Zendaya Tennis Movie ‘Challengers’ Gets Streaming Release Date

Challengers—Zendaya’s provocative romance sports drama—has landed a streaming video on demand date.

First released in theaters in April, Challengers takes place over a 13-year period where a potential tennis pro, Tashi Donaldson (Zendaya), finds herself in the middle of a love triangle with fellow players Art Donaldson (Mike Faist) and Patrick Zweig (Josh O’Connor).

Once close friends and doubles partners, Art and Patrick sever ties after one of them wins Tashi’s heart. The two men still encounter each other over the years, though, as their rivalry continues on and off the tennis court.

RT verified users gave Challengers a “fresh” 73% Audience Score based on 500-plus verified ratings.

Challengers marked the second big film release for Zendaya in 2024 after she starred opposite Timothée Chalamet in the sci-fi blockbuster Dune: Part Two in March.

Zendaya’s role as Tashi in Challengers proved to be a lot more provocative than her role as the Fremen warrior Chani opposite Chalamet’s Paul Atreides in the Dune movies.

One of the most talked-about scenes from Challengers included Zendaya’s three-way motel kiss with Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor, which the Euphoria star said wasn’t as steamy during the filming of the scene as it looks on screen.
