Youth tennis camp in Point Pleasant serves up fun for good cause
POINT PLEASANT, WV (WOWK) – Area businesses partnered up Friday to “Cause a Racket!”
The one-day youth tennis camp, “Causing a Racket,” welcomed children between the ages of 4 and 12 Friday at the Point Pleasant High School courts to teach them some skills for a good cause! The participation fee was a $10 donation to Point Pleasant High School’s tennis team. All of the participants also received a free t-shirt.
“Really good turnout, and they’re just $10 donation per child. And the funds go to the Point Pleasant tennis team. We have some of those players out here helping us today, too. So it’s just a really good community event for us,” said Justin Turner, chief operating officer of Rivers Health.
Rivers Health with Marshall Health Network and Ohio Valley Bank sponsored the event. PPHS girls’ tennis head coach Clarissa Alabi-Isama and Life Spring Church pastor and recreational tennis player Claire Cottrill served as the instructors for the camp.
