WWE Raw Winners And Grades

Drew McIntyre Returns To WWE Raw

The Miz, not Pat McAfee, appeared on commentary in McAfee’s adopted hometown of Indianapolis, IN. This was due to an apparent Wyatt Sicks attack on “The Pat McAfee Show.” Michael Cole and guest commentator The Miz were flanked by security.

Drew McIntyre referenced Punk’s dog Larry, which received “Larry” chants. So Larry is more over than any AEW reference that has ever been made on WWE TV.

McIntyre stole a fan-made bracelet from CM Punk that had the name of his dog and his wife.

McIntyre insisted he’d be in the Money in the Bank match in Toronto and win the ladder match while CM Punk was on the mend. I fully expect Punk to shove McIntyre off the ladder right before he grabs the briefcase.

Drew McIntyre Segment: A

Bron Breakker Vs. Ludwig Kaiser Ends In No Contest

Bron Breakker went for his signature runaround spear, but he was intercepted by Sheamus. Sheamus went for a double-pump power bomb on Kaiser, but was hit with a Spear from Breakker. I smell a Triple Threat.

After the match, Breakker confronted Adam Pearce and demanded that he stops people from interfering in his business. This brought out Sami Zayn, and Sami answered Bron’s challenge by saying “anytime, any place.” Bron Breakker selected Money in the Bank.

Bron Breakker vs. Ludwig Kaiser Grade: B

Lyra Valkyria Def. Kairi Sane And Shayna Baszler

Lyra Valkyria continues to over-perform in WWE as this match received “this is awesome” chants.

Kairi Sane took another pinfall loss, and Iyo Sky’s Damage CTRL upheaval will continue. Possibly with the debut of Giulia?

Lyra Valkyria vs. Kairi Sane vs. Shayna Baszler Grade: B

Liv Morgan Calls Out Dominik Mysterio

Liv Morgan walked out in a “Daddy’s Girl” t-shirt in honor of “Daddy Dominik” Mysterio. Morgan previously sent Dom gifts and raunchy text messages. Dominik insisted he did not like these advances.

Zelina Vega was great during her promo, and the back-and-forth with Liv felt like a real argument.

Zelina referred to Liv Morgan wanting “Dirty D,” and fans chortled since it sounded like she was implying Dom had an STD.

Fans chanted “sloppy seconds” at Dirty Dom as he tried to find common ground with Zelina Vega.

Rey Mysterio broke up a fight between Liv Morgan and Zelina Vega, prompting Dominik to shove his dad to the ground. Morgan and Dom left together.

Liv Morgan, Dominik Mysterio and Zelina Vega Segment Grade: A

Chad Gable Def. Braun Strowman And Bronson Reed;

Chad Gable’s mental health was questioned all night as Cathy Kelley waited outside of his locker room for an update.

Gable cut a promo before this match saying reports of his demise were greatly exaggerated, and that in an act of bravery, he would slay two monsters en route to Money in the Bank. He seemed no worse for wear early in the match.

The Judgment Day attacked Braun Strowman, which led to Chad Gable hitting a moonsault and defeating Bronson Reed. Not the greatest endorsement of The Wyatt Sicks to have Gable recover from their attack and beat Bronson Reed.

Chad Gable vs. Braun Strowman and Bronson Reed: B-

Nikki Cross And The Wyatt Sicks Return

Right on cue, The Wyatt Sicks arrive to a huge pop. Chad Gable escaped the ring in ear at the sight of Nikki Cross. WWE security had been laid out, and Nikki Cross gave Michael Cole a present. Fans cheered as she left.

Michael Cole answered chants of “open it!” and opened the box—addressed to Pat McAfee. It was a VHS tape. The tape said “play me” He gave it to a production assistant to play it.

Backstage, Chad Gable admitted he was wrong, and that his life flashed before his eyes after the Wyatt Sicks attack. He then apologized to The Alpha Academy and said “family sticks together.” Otis said they were done and fans cheered. Gable then had a moment with The Creed Brothers.

Wyatt Sicks Follow-Up: B+

The Unholy Union Def. Kayden Carter And Katana Chance

There was no heat for either team during their entrances, but The Unholy Union will always have Scotland.

This was a highly athletic match that would have gotten over with bigger stars, but these things take time. After the match, The Unholy Union was attacked by Damage CTRL.

Unholy Union vs. Carter and Chance Grade: B-

Seth Rollins Confronts Damian Priest

Backstage, Damian Priest caught Liv Morgan leaving the Judgment Day locker room and he was sketched out by it. It’s looking more and more like Morgan, Balor and Dom are plotting against Damian Priest.

WWE aired a great video package for Seth Rollins earlier in the night.

Damian Priest told Seth Rollins he would never become world champion while Priest had the strap. Seth said he didn’t believe him, and fans took Seth’s side.

Rollins said that if Priest wins, he’ll never challenge for the world title as long as Priest is champion. But if Rollins wins, Priest has to leave The Judgment Day.

GUNTHER arrived after Priest accepted Rollins’ challenge. GUNTHER said “may the better man win,” but at SummerSlam the better man will be the lesser man when he steps in the ring with GUNTHER.

Seth Rollins-Damian Priest Segment Grade: B

WWE’s Amazing Bo Dallas-Uncle Howdy Interview

Uncle Howdy Interview Grade: A

Karrion Kross Def. Kofi Kingston

The finish came when AOP was beating down Xavier Woods backstage, causing Kofi to be distracted. This led to Karrion Kross winning the match. After a finish like that, it’s looking less likely that Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods will split.

Karrion Kross vs. Kofi Kingston Grade: C+

The Judgment Day Def. Awesome Truth

Earlier in the night, Liv Morgan tricked R-Truth into putting the Tag Team

Michael Cole had to call half the show by himself after The Miz scurried to the back to prepare for his Tag Title Match in the main event. Miz was furious as Truth was tricked by Liv Morgan into putting the titles on the line.

Michael Cole actually did a fine job commentating by himself. He even took a chance to bury The Miz by saying Miz added more to the Awesome Truth entrance than he did on commentary tonight.

Liv Morgan showed up ringside, further hinting toward a possible title change.

After outside interference from Dominik Mysterio and Carlito, Braun Strowman chased them off. Liv Morgan stayed ringside She hugged R-Truth, only to drop him on the top rope, leading to a Coup de Grace and a win for The Judgment Day.
