Workouts: Bright Future is 1 of 55 graded winners on tab

Training
for what could be his 2024 debut next weekend at Monmouth Park, Grade 1 winner Bright Future worked a brisk half-mile Saturday morning on the Belmont Park training
track.

The
5-year-old colt sired by Curlin, owned by Mike Repole and Vinnie Viola and
trained by Todd Pletcher was clocked going four furlongs in 47.6 seconds, the
third fastest of 171 breezes covering that distance.

The
Salvator Mile (G3) for open company next Saturday has been mentioned as a
possible starting point this year for Bright Future, who has not raced since he
finished sixth in the Breeders’ Cup Classic last year at Santa Anita. His
biggest win came last summer in the Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1) at Saratoga.

There
were 55 graded-stakes winners who breezed Saturday in the U.S. and Canada.
