Women’s Tennis Announces Brad Bolton as Assistant Coach – University of Cincinnati Athletics

CINCINNATI – Cincinnati women’s tennis head coach Eric Toth has announced the hiring of Brad Bolton to be an assistant coach for the 2024-25 season.
 
“I am excited that Brad is coming to Cincinnati to be a part of our program,” Toth said. “Brad brings some very good experience as a part of his coaching pedigree. He has worked with some of the very best coaches in college tennis who speak highly of his coaching ability as well as his character. I am really excited for our current team. Brad will be a huge help to me in developing our players both on and off the court as we continue to grow into the Big 12 Conference.”
 
Bolton was the assistant coach for the Ole Miss men’s team during the 2023-24 season and the volunteer assistant women’s coach from 2020-23.
 
He has a proven track record as a recruiter. Bolton, bringing in three top international players, one of which a top 50 ITF player.
 
“I couldn’t be more excited and humbled by the opportunity to come be the assistant coach at UC,” said Bolton. “Cincinnati is a school with a rich tradition of success, alongside a beautiful campus. Additionally, Eric is someone of high character and knows a lot about the game. I am looking forward to working alongside him to bring UC to the top of the Big 12 Conference.”
 
During the 2023-24 season at Ole Miss, he coached its No. 1 doubles team of Niko Slavic and Lukas Engelhardt, who finished the season as the No. 54 doubles team in the country according to ITA. The duo also qualified as regional doubles finalists.

Slavic had a successful singles season as well, finishing the season No. 45 in the country and earning himself and John Hallquist Lithén two All-SEC Honors.

During Bolton’s three-year stint as Mississippi’s women’s tennis volunteer assistant, he saw a lot of team and player success.

The program recruited its first blue-chip player in Ole Miss women’s history, reached an ITA national ranking of No. 21 and made an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2021.

Bolton oversaw five All-SEC honors, had two players qualify for the NCAA Tournament in singles (Machalova 21-22 and Kareisova 23) and coached Ole Miss’s No. 1 Tiphanie Fiquet on the pro tour. Fiquet reached a high ranking of No. 454.

Bolton’s first coaching opportunity came at Centre College from 2018-20, where he was the assistant men’s and women’s coach. He helped the program reach new heights during his two years.

He helped lead the women’s team to their first ITA National Indoor Championships in school history.

In 2018-19, Centre presented the only conference singles player ranked in the Atlantic South Region for the season, Katharine Sherman and they presented the only conference doubles team ranked in the Atlantic South Region during the season as well (Neha Rao and Hannah Doherty).

During his playing career, Bolton was ranked among the top 20 juniors in Tennessee before beginning his collegiate career at Tennessee Wesleyan, a top-ranked NAIA program. He later completed his studies at UT-Chattanooga
