Women’s Golf Welcomes Swiss Transfer – Colorado State Athletics
FORT COLLINS – Coming off the best season in program history, Colorado State women’s golf welcomes transfer Chiara Sola to the team. Sola spent her first two years at Augusta University in Georgia.
“We are excited to welcome Chiara to our program,” head coach Laura Cilek. “She brings high-level collegiate golf experience, competitiveness, and an excitement to our team that will help elevate all of us.”
The Switzerland native helped Augusta to the 2023 Southland Conference title and the program’s first NCAA National Championship appearance as a freshman. She won the Ford Invitational her freshman season as she played in 11 tournaments.
Over the 27 rounds played in the 2022-23 season, Sola had a stroke average of 76.67. She only competed in two tournaments for the Jaguars as a sophomore.
From Fraudenfeld, Switzerland, Sola attended ISBerne International High School. She has won the Swiss International match play championship twice and was the Swiss National Junior U16 champion. Sola has twice been a part of the European Team Championships.
Sola joins a team that qualified for CSU’s first NCAA appearance in 14 years and returns Mountain West Freshman of the Year Kara Kaneshiro.
