Women’s Basketball Announces Three Home Games – West Virginia University Athletics
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University women’s basketball team has announced three home nonconference games to the schedule for the 2024-25 season.
The Mountaineers will play host to Towson on Nov. 5, Pitt on Nov. 12 and to Texas A&M on Nov. 15.
West Virginia is set to tipoff the season against the Tigers. Towson finished last season with a 20-11 record and an 11-7 mark in the Coastal Athletic Conference. The Tigers finished last season inside the top 175 of the net rankings. The meeting will be the sixth all-time as the Mountaineers are a perfect 5-0 in the series.
The Mountaineers then play host to Pitt in the “Backyard Brawl” marking the second straight season the two will square off. WVU holds a 29-19 advantage in the series, including a 14-7 mark inside the WVU Coliseum and are winners of six straight.
West Virginia and Texas A&M meet for just the third time. It will be the Aggies’ first-ever appearance in Morgantown. The two last played in 2017 when the Mountaineers defeated No. 18 Texas A&M in a 70-56 road win.
The full nonconference schedule will be released at a later date.
