Wisconsin Badgers women’s basketball adds walk-on

(UW ATHLETICS) MADISON – Wisconsin women’s basketball head coach Marisa Moseley announced the addition of Reese Jaramillo as a walk-on for the 2024-25 season.

“Badger Nation, please help me welcome Wisconsinite Reese Jaramillo to our WBB family as a preferred walk-on.  A native of Racine, Reese comes from a long line of athletes, including her parents,” stated Moseley. “Reese arrives to Madison following a record setting season for the Prairie School including a conference, regional, and sectional championship and where she finished as the third leading scorer in school history with 1,292 points. I’m thrilled to welcome Reese to our program and I’m confident she will enhance this special group!”

Holding captain status for three seasons at Prairie School, Jaramillo completed her career ranked third on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,292 points. This past season, she earned Metro Classic All-Conference First-Team, Racine All-County, WBCA All-State Honorable Mention, and WBCA Academic All-State honors.

In addition to playing at the high school level, the Racine, Wisconsin native also competed at the club level with the Wisconsin Lakers.

Jaramillo’s father, Lee, played college baseball at Milwaukee, before being called up to play professionally with the Milwaukee Brewers and New York Mets organizations. Her mother, Abby, played collegiate basketball at New Mexico before going on to play overseas in Finland, Portugal, and Greece.
