Wimbledon: De Minaur moves into last 16 as Pouille withdraws

This is the second time in his career that the Australian has reached the fourth round at Wimbledon (the first coming in 2022) and marks the fourth Slam in a row that he is through to the second week. The best among that was a quarter-final finish at Roland-Garros in June – which equalled his career-best performance at a Grand Slam event (he also made the quarters of the 2020 US Open).

In the previous rounds of tournament, the Australian defeated lucky loser James Duckworth (7-6 (1), 7-6 (3), 7-6 (4)) and Spaniard Jaume Munar (6-2, 6-2, 7-5).

Pouille, ranked No 212 in the world, won against Serb Laslo Djere (3-6, 7-6 (4), 3-6, 6-3, 6-1) and Australian Thanasi Kokkinakis (2-6, 7-5, 5-2 ret.) in the main draw after winning three matches in the qualifying event.
