Gauff is one of the few players who plays in both singles as well as doubles consistently. Amid this taxing schedule, she is in constant need of support from her peers and her family and friends haven’t let her down in this matter.

Behind the success of any children, there is strong backing from their parents. Gauff’s case is no different, as her mother and father have supported her tennis career right from the very beginning. What’s more, they even sacrificed their own careers so that their daughter could pursue her tennis dream. Today, she is the World No. 2.

Ahead of the Wimbledon Championships, the American sensation was involved in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, where she talked at length about her relationship with her parents. Gauff mentioned, “There are times, yes, I do feel homesick and feel overwhelmed. But I am thankful that my parents are able to travel with me a lot, so they help a lot.”
