Williams Company and Tioga Golf Club held a charity challenge
NICHOLS, N.Y. (WETM) – Lots of people enjoy playing golf. But wouldn’t it feel better to play for a good cause? Williams Company and Tioga Golf Club set up a charity event.
Williams Company asked all the vendors they work with to give them money to donate it to 30 charities in the area.
Some of these include the YMCA, Make a Wish, Arc of Yates, C.A.C., the Food Bank, Serve Inc, T.A.C.O., and more.
The goal is to raise $80,000 for this event. Activities that were set up was a chip into a pond, putt for a hit and win, and a ball launcher.
There was a decent amount of preparations to get this event to run smoothly.
“It’s a pretty daunting task having this many people at one time playing golf and we want it to be a good representation of the area and the course, the casino, and Williams as well. So we strive to make it an enjoyable day for them,” says Jason Harris, the Director of Golf Operations at Tioga Downs Casino.
The golfers had a good time at the event. They got to enjoy the nice weather with their peers and play some golf.
So make sure to say four and enjoy the game and the weather!
