Volunteers needed for disc golf tourney in Aldergrove

Volunteers are needed for the upcoming disc golf tournament in Aldergrove.

Both professionals and amateur players from Canada and around the world are coming to Raptors Knoll Disc Golf Park for the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) sanctioned B.C. Open.

The success of the tournament relies heavily on the efforts of volunteers, said event director Ryan Hammerquist.

“From registration and general help to course set up and tear down, and being the eyes out there on the courses, [volunteers] contributions make a significant impact,” he said.

Volunteers will be part of a raffle, where each shift completed earns a ticket than a volunteer can enter into their choice of prize package.

“Let’s work together to make this event a resounding success and showcase the true spirit of disc golf,” Hammerquist said.

Volunteer shifts are flexible ranging from one hour to a few hours or multiple days. People of all ages are encouraged to volunteer.

The B.C. Open runs from June 24 to 30.

Those interested in volunteering can register online at discgolfscene.com.
