Vincent Kompany wants Bayern Munich to sign his goalkeeper from Burnley

Vincent Kompany’s initiative will see Bayern Munich are about to challenge Liverpool and Newcastle for Kompany’s goalkeeper at Burnley: James Trafford. As reported by FootballInsider247, Liverpool sees the 21-year-old Trafford as their Caoimhin Kelleher replacement as understudy to Alisson. Ditto Newcastle, who employ ex-Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope.

The damning stat here is that Trafford only kept two clean sheets in 28 games in the Premier League last season; he was dropped for the last 10 games in favor of Arijanet Muric. Going to Bayern to replace the great Manuel Neuer and even Sven Ulreich is no easy task, and for someone who has less clean sheets than even Daniel Peretz, it’s more than a small challenge.

Trafford stands at 1.97m or 6’ 6”, which is a standout characteristic for goalkeepers. Tom Ritzy Hülsmann, who plays for Bayern’s youth teams, is an eye-watering 2.05m or 6’ 9” at only 20-years-old.
