Vikings to soon find out results of Kirk Cousins mistake

The Minnesota Vikings will look a little different offensively this year. Many fans have grown accustomed to seeing Kirk Cousins as the team’s starting quarterback but he took his services to the Atlanta Falcons in free agency this offseason.

Because the NFL is a business, players switch teams pretty often. Sometimes, those transactions get a little too comfortable and discussions about signing with another team happen in the league’s no-tampering window.

That is allegedly what happened with Kirk Cousins and the Falcons. Vikings fans thought they would hear the NFL’s findings in the investigation before the 2024 NFL Draft, but the league is taking more time to investigate the incident.

The Falcons and Giants are in the hot seat for alleged tampering this offseason with more emphasis being placed on Atlanta’s situation, which is considered to be more significant than the one New York is currently in.

Kirk Cousins raised eyebrows when talking to the media upon his arrival in the “Dirty South” because of comments about talking with team staff before agreeing to sign. There was hope the Minnesota Vikings could improve their draft situation because of the tampering allegations, but the rulings were not handed down in time for it to have an impact.

ESPN Senior Writer and NFL Insider Adam Schefter recently shared that a resolution in the cases of the Falcons and Giants should come this week. It will be interesting to see the league’s findings and punishments for tampering this offseason.

The NFL has been serious when dealing with these situations in the past. Teams and coaches received fines for tampering and draft picks have been forfeited by teams as a result of tampering outside the free agency window.

At this time, it isn’t easy to guess if the league’s resolution will include the Minnesota Vikings at all. If the league takes action against the Falcons, the repercussions could only negatively impact Atlanta. But with the league trying to make examples of teams in the past and their attempts to shut down tampering, the severity of the punishments could be more severe than ever.

Keep an eye on the tampering situation involving former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins and the Atlanta Falcons. With a resolution coming soon, fans will finally know how serious the league is about stopping this behavior.
