Veronica Beard Plans a Southampton Evening Celebrating Women in Fashion and the Arts

Veronica Beard has teamed up with FPI Art Initiative to host “An Evening in Celebration of Women in Fashion and the Arts Out East.” It will take place July 11 from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the Veronica Beard boutique in Southhampton, N.Y.

The event commemorates the opening of a pop-up exhibiton featuring work by Hamptons-based women artists such as Lindsay Bardwil, Isadora Capraro and Edwina Lucas. Curated by Francesca Popescu Ife of FPI Art Initiative, the exhibition will be on view and open to the public from July 11-14 at the Beard boutique.

Ten percent of all proceeds from art and fashion sales for the evening will be donated to the Mack Art Foundation (MAF), a nonprofit whose mission is to give emerging artists who do not reside in the New York area an opportunity to connect with the artistic and cultural resources the city has to offer. MAF has hosted seven artist residencies in New York City since its founding in 2023.

“The synergy between fashion and art has always been a powerful force. This event highlights how women in both fields can come together to create something truly inspiring, said Ife, curator and art adviser. “The Hamptons’ rich artistic legacy provides the perfect backdrop for celebrating these talented artists.”

The artworks in the show all draw inspiration from the natural surroundings of the Hamptons. Bardwil’s pieces feature natural elements, such as stones, sand and shells, that she has collected from the beaches of Montauk. Capraro blends abstraction and figuration revealing hidden human figures, animals and symbols within layers of vibrant colors and textures, while Lucas’ painting depicts the beauty of everyday life in her surroundings out East through the use of color, shadow and light.

“We believe in the importance of supporting emerging artists of all backgrounds and from all regions,” said Christine Mack, executive director and founder of the Mack Art Foundation. “We’re particularly excited that FPI Art initiative has found a way to spotlight artists who are local to the Hamptons for the summer crowd, which is composed of visitors from all over the world. This event is a testament to the vibrant community of artists in the Hamptons and the enduring legacy of artistic excellence here.”

The opening reception is invite-only and cohosted by Laura Day Webb and Bardwil.
