USI women’s basketball to play in 2024 Puerto Rico Clasico

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – University of Southern Indiana Women’s Basketball will travel to Puerto Rico this November for the 2024 D-1 Women’s Basketball Puerto Rico Clasico.

According to officials, this upcoming tournament will run November 27 to November 30 with USI competing on November 29 and November 30. They say games will be held in multiple venues and a livestream will be available.

USI Women’s Basketball Head Coach Rick Stein says, “Our team is extremely excited to take our game on the road to Puerto Rico. We are always hunting the toughest schedule to prepare us for the Ohio Valley Conference play, and I feel like this event will help our team be ready for a tough conference schedule in January, February and March.”

Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics Jon Mark Hall says, “We are very excited to be invited to participate in an event with such a strong field where we will face two quality opponents on a neutral floor.”

• Youngstown State University (Horizon League)
