Unusually beneficial June rains aim for the Prairies this week – The Weather Network
The low pushes into central Saskatchewan by Tuesday, at which point it will slow down and crawl eastward. This slow movement, combined with a steady flow of Gulf moisture from the south, will fuel steady rainfall for the northern, central, and eastern sections of the province, including Prince Albert and Saskatoon.

Our area of low pressure finally ekes into Manitoba by Wednesday, bringing a swath of Gulf-infused steady rainfall to just about everybody from Thompson to Winnipeg and all spots in between.
All told, we’re looking at 10-20 mm of rain throughout northern Alberta, with a solid batch of 20-30+ mm of rain across much of Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Some areas could see 50+ mm of rain by the middle of the week.
Most of the Prairies have seen wetter-than-normal conditions over the past month. This impending rainfall will serve to pad the totals, bringing good news for wildfire prevention and the agricultural growing season.
Another pang of good news with this system is that it’s likely to track too far north to spawn severe thunderstorms.
