‘Uncle’ Steve Nash, two-time NBA MVP, lauds Sharks No. 1 pick Celebrini | NHL.com
Celebrini had a ridiculous 32 goals and 32 assists in 38 games at Boston University last season and became the youngest Hobey Baker Award winner in history.
Nash of course played 18 seasons in the NBA won MVP in both 2005 and 2006 before being elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018. He also led the NBA in assists five times and retired as the third leading assister in NBA history. He is currently fifth in career assists with 10,335.
“This little fella would tear my basement apart at a young age and is now the number one pick in the NHL draft,” Nash said. “To watch his journey, to watch the work ethic he developed has been astounding.”
