UNC Asheville Men’s Tennis Earns ITA Carolina Region Community Service Award – UNC Asheville Athletics
TEMPE, Ariz. – UNC Asheville Men’s Tennis earned the Carolina Region Community Service Award from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, recently announced by the organization.
The team totaled over 200 hours of community service throughout the 2023-24 year. This is the first time in program history that the team has received the honor.
The team’s seniors volunteered their time at Mission Hospital in Asheville, and also had Coach Frost volunteering his time as an instructor at the Asheville Tennis Association’s Champions Camp. The team also spent time at UNC Asheville’s annual Sportsfest. The team spent time at Buncombe County Special Olympics, while also spending time teaching the game of tennis at community events at Aston Park.
“This recognition tells you a lot about the group of guys we had last year, they went above and beyond to help others in the Asheville Community,” said head coach Matt Frost. “Their commitment to doing so should be admired.”
