The Catalog for the Japan Racing Horse Association Select Sale July 8-9 at Northern Horse Park was released last week and it includes three foals from the first crop of undefeated United States Champion Flightline . In addition, the catalog includes two yearlings and one foal out of U.S. champion females.
Hip 80 is a yearling colt out of Blind Luck , who won three grade 1s including the 2010 Kentucky Oaks (G1), and was named champion 3-year-old filly. She joined the broodmare band at Haruya Yoshida’s Oiwake Farm in 2020 and the colt by Kizuna is her second Japanese foal.
Hip 90 is a yearling filly by Kizuna out of Ginger Punch , who won three grade 1s including the 2007 Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1), and was awarded as Eclipse Champion Older Female. Ginger Punch was bought by Katsumi Yoshida of Northern Farm at the 2009 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Mixed Sale for $1.6 million and has already produced two graded stakes winners, including Potager, winner of the 2022 Osaka Hai (G1).
Hip 386 is a foal colt by Contrail out of Caledonia Road , who won the 2017 Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) and was awarded as Eclipse champion 2-year-old filly. Caledonia Road was bought by Narvick International for Grand Stud at the 2018 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Mixed Sale for $2.3 million. Three foals out of Caledonia Road were bought at the foal session of the JRHA and their average price was ¥123,333,333, approximately $781,877.
