Tristan Bradley to Play For NCAA Men’s Tennis Singles Title Tuesday – Bowdoin College

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Bowdoin’s Tristan Bradley will play for the NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Singles Championship on Tuesday morning following a dominating run through the bracket this weekend.

Bradley, fresh off Commencement ceremonies on campus on Saturday, arrived back in St. Louis late on Saturday evening. On Sunday, as the top seed in the bracket, he took straight-set wins over Jacob Patterson of Denison (7-6 (7-3), 6-4), and Michael Melnikov of Swarthmore (6-4, 6-3). On Monday in the quarterfinals he bounced Aiden Drover-Mattinen of RPI (7-5, 6-2), and then took another straight-set win over Vuk Vuksanovic of Tufts 7-5, 7-5 to reach the finals.

Bradley will face Kael Shalin Shah of Denison in the national title match at 9 a.m. CT/10 a.m. ET Tuesday morning. Bradley is just the second men’s singles finalist in program history, joining Grant Urken, who won the national title in 2018.

In the doubles bracket, Bradley teamed with doubles partner Reid Staples to reach the quarterfinals. Seeded third in the bracket, Bradley and Staples advanced out of the first round 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 over a team from Pomona Pitzer before battling a Sewanee pair in a three-set marathon before falling 6-4, 6-7 (7-2), 6-3. The performance earns the duo automatic ITA Division III All-American status.
