Top 10 combined tennis prize-money earners in 2024, featuring Iga Swiatek, Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz

Iga Swiatek is in a class of her own so far in 2024 as she is dominating on the WTA Tour having won five titles and has built a handy lead over several ATP stars in the combined prize-money earners list.

Whereas in previous years men’s tennis players dominated the top-10 earners list from the start of the campaign until the end, that is not the case as Swiatek sits top while three other women’s players also feature in the top 10.

The injured Novak Djokovic doesn’t make the top 10 as he is in 15th place having won $1.85m so far this year.

Fourteen players have already earned at least $2m this year with Elena Rybakina ($2.29m), Alex de Minaur ($2.28m), Andrey Rublev ($2.21m) and Danielle Collins ($2m) just outside the top 10.

10. Coco Gauff – $2.59m

Reigning US Open champion Coco Gauff has won only one title – the WTA 250 Auckland Open at the start of the year – but her big earnings have come from the French Open as she reached the semi-finals in the singles and won the doubles.

The American also reached the last four of the Australian Open and the big-paying WTA 1000 events at Indian Wells and Rome.

9. Stefanos Tsitsipas – $2.74m

World No 11 Stefanos Tsitsipas collected just under $1m when he won the Monte Carlo Masters in April while he also finished runner-up at the Barcelona Open.

It hasn’t been the best of seasons for the Greek so far with his best result at the Grand Slams a run to the quarter-final of the French Open.

8. Jasmine Paolini – $2.8m

Italian Jasmine Paolini is having her breakthrough season at the age of 28 as she won the biggest title of her career at the Dubai Tennis Championships and also finished runner-up in the French Open singles and doubles finals.

She earned $1,283,525 for her French Open singles run and $454,500 for winning the title in Dubai.

7. Daniil Medvedev – $2.86m

Former world No 1 Daniil Medvedev hasn’t won a title in 2024, but he finished runner-up at the Australian Open ($1,166,963) and runner-up at Indian Wells ($585,000).

He will need to win a couple of titles during the latter half of the season if he is to come close to his record earnings of $11,548,023 in 2023.

6. Casper Ruud – $3.16m

Casper Ruud has won two titles already in 2024 as he lifted the Barcelona Open ($524,085) and Geneva Open ($94,510).

But his biggest paydays came from reaching the semi-final of the French Open as he collected $695,243 and finishing runner-up at the Monte Carlo Masters ($540,638).

5. Aryna Sabalenka – $3.71m

Aryna Sabalenka successfully defended her Australian Open title at the start of the year and earned $2,130,975 as a result.

The Belarusian also finished runner-up at the Madrid Open ($589,099) and the Italian Open ($419,767).

4. Carlos Alcaraz – $4.52m

Three-time Grand Slam winner Carlos Alcaraz shot up the list after pocketing $2,567,051 with his French Open title run.

He also won the Indian Wells Open ($1,100,000) and reached the quarter-final of the Australian Open ($405,900).

Alcaraz earned $15,196,504 in prize money in 2023.

3. Alexander Zverev – $4.63m

Alexander Zverev is enjoying a brilliant comeback season following his injury woes the past two years.

He finished runner-up to Alcaraz at the French Open ($1,283,525), won the Italian Open ($1,033,165) and reached the semi-final of the Australian Open ($669,735)

2. Jannik Sinner – $5.16m

Jannik Sinner added $2,130,975 to his bank account when he won his maiden Grand Slam, the 2024 Australian Open.

The Italian also won the Miami Open ($1,100,000), reached the semi-final at Roland Garros ($695,243) and won the Rotterdam Open ($430,260).

Sinner is on course to beat his tally of $10,456,264 from 2023.

1. Iga Swiatek – $6.68m

Iga Swiatek earned $9,875,525 in 2022 and $9,857,686 in 2023 and she is on course to smash those totals as she has already earned about 70% of those totals and we are only in June.

The five-time Grand Slam winner collected $2,567,051 at the French Open, $1,100,000 at the Indian Wells Open, $1,025,144 at the Madrid Open, $804,644 at the Italian Open and $523,485 at the Qatar Open.

Swiatek is already ninth on the all-time list for career earnings on the WTA Tour.
