Tony Khan donating $100k to charity for NFL Draft neck brace
Tony Khan and AEW announced a donation of $100,000 to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital on Wednesday.
Khan and AEW received a significant amount of media coverage last month when the AEW president appeared at the NFL Draft while wearing a neck brace. During one interview, Khan promised Rich Eisen he would auction off the neck brace with the proceeds being donated to St. Jude’s through Eisen’s RunRichRun charity.
Khan appeared as a guest on The Rich Eisen Show again today and said that instead of auctioning off the neck brace, he will donate $100,000 to St. Jude’s, and the neck brace can remain on the set of Eisen’s show.
Khan also made some controversial statements regarding WWE coming out of the NFL Draft in April. He referred to his competition as a “really evil juggernaut” during an appearance on The NFL Network. He also called WWE the “Harvey Weinstein of pro wrestling.” Khan would later tell TMZ his comments garnered a lot of media coverage for AEW.
