Tom Ryan is elected to Breeders’ Cup board of directors

Breeders’ Cup members re-elected two members of its board of directors and elected a new director.
Fred Hertrich III of Watercress Farm and Clem Murphy of Coolmore Stud were re-elected, and Tom Ryan of SF Racing was elected. All will serve four-year terms.
“We congratulate Fred and Clem on their re-election and Tom on his election to the Board,” Breeders’ Cup chairman Barbara Banke, said. “Together, their expertise and insight will contribute to the success of future company initiatives, including the global expansion and impact of the Breeders’ Cup world championships.”
The 2024 Breeders’ Cup world championships, featuring 14 Grade 1 races run during a two-day festival worth more than $34 million in purses and awards, will be held Nov. 1-2 at Del Mar in California. The 2025 Breeders’ Cup also will be held at Del Mar on Oct. 31 Nov. 1.
