TNA stars Joe Hendry, Frankie Kazarian appear in WWE NXT battle royal
TNA stars made their mark on NXT.
Tuesday’s show opened with Joe Hendry making his NXT debut, cutting a promo saying he would take the NXT title back to TNA. However, he was among the first eliminated by none other than fellow TNA star Frankie Kazarian, who made it to nearly the end of the match before being eliminated by eventual winner Je’Von Evans. With the win, Evans will now challenge Trick Williams for the title at Heatwave on July 7.
Backstage, Hendry was upset about his loss, complaining to Shawn Michaels. He said he would appear anywhere at any time on any show.
In recent weeks, TNA stars have been making appearances on NXT programing. TNA Knockouts champion Jordynne Grace defeated Stevie Turner on a recent episode of NXT before losing to Roxanne Perez at Battleground in a match that had been for Perez’s title. Grace lost thanks to a distraction from Tatum Paxley, who attempted to sneak away with Grace’s Knockouts title before Ash by Elegance, the former Dana Brooke, argued with Paxley in the aisle.
This past weekend, Paxley accepted the open challenge for Grace’s Knockouts title in a losing effort at TNA’s Against All Odds event.
