Thrifter finds 2 designer items for $2 – they retail for thousands
A LUCKY thrifter has come across two designer items priced at a dollar each.
The shopper couldn’t contain their excitement and shared their finds on social media.
“You guys, $1 each,” the user shared on Reddit.
The first image was a pair of medium-wash Chanel jeans.
On the next slide was a Gucci shirt with an interesting pattern.
The top of the shirt was tan with different colored flowers.
It ended in a triangle form and merged into a dark pink color block triangle that pointed downward toward the white bottom of the shirt.
Over all the designs read in French, “Dans mon pays on m’appelait l’amour” which translates to “In my country, they call me love.”
Another user commented on the post saying, “The way I would have been losing it internally while trying not to give it away that they underpriced it.”
The initial poster wrote back, “I was. I started shopping faster almost got frantic hahaha. I hid the tags against my body so no one saw them while I was shopping haha.”
WHAT ARE THEY WORTH?
Though it’s uncertain how much the Chanel jeans were originally, the brand’s selection ranges in price, with pairs on their website retailing for $2,600 to $3,450.
However, there are some cheaper options shoppers could buy second hand for more than a dollar but much less than the retail price.
TheRealReal is selling vintage Chanel jeans for $244.
Rare items still have a major price hike such as another vintage pair that Vestiaire Collective is selling for over $7,000.
The Gucci shirt is not still being sold by the designer but was recently sold by TheRealReal.
It was priced at $295, but marked down 70% to $88.50.
A similar version of the shirt was priced even higher.
The brand once sold a light pink t-shirt with the same quote for $750, but TheRealReal had it priced at $525.
VINTAGE GOWN
Many thrifters have been lucky enough to find designer items while scouring the racks.
Another shopper found a vintage Versace gown for $17.
“I don’t want to be dramatic, but that over there, you’re going to freak out,” Sarah Dunk (@sarahdunk) said in the video.
She showed the Gianni Versace tag on a dress that was made of black mesh and the bustier had nude lace details.
Commenters were helping her figure out when the dress was from and how much it retailed for.
“That dress is from the ’92 collection, it’s worth about $9,800,” a user wrote.
One of these dresses is listed on the resale site First Dibs for $9,800.
