Third Thursday is back for another evening of shopping in Downtown Bryan

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) –This segment on The Three was paid for and sponsored by Destination Bryan.

Third Thursday Shop & Stroll is back in Downtown Bryan on July 18 after a successful first event in June.

Several retail merchants will be promoting their small businesses by extending store hours every third Thursday of each month, including The Frame Gallery, owned by Missy Barron.

“Hopefully it will continue to get people familiar with the merchants and what we do have down here,” said Barron. “Ultimately, we need people to come down and shop here, so that we can keep these businesses going and continue to do all these fun things.”

Select stores will remain open until 8 p.m. with some offering special Third Thursday discounts, live music, and local art inside their shops.

Owner of Burr’s Unfinished Furniture Cindy Roberts organized the event to encourage the community to shop locally and enjoy the essence of the historic downtown.

Unlike First Friday, Roberts said Third Thursday is an opportunity for people to check out the brick-and-mortar businesses that work tirelessly to maintain their downtown shops.

The new monthly event will include several small businesses that provide different shopping experiences in each store. Furniture, antiques, glasswork, and clothing are just some of the things you can shop for during the Shop & Stroll event.
