Third suspect charged in kidnapping and murder of Kitchener man


Wellington County OPP have charged a third person in connection to a murder of a Kitchener man over five years ago.


In March of 2019, Jason John Brown was abducted from Jessie Street in Harriston, near the cemetery.


The next day, his body was found almost 200 kilometres away at the side of Stevenson Road in Oshawa.


On Thursday, OPP announced that 30-year-old Travis Willard Wand of Wellington North has been charged with first degree murder, two counts of assault with a weapon, kidnapping, and several other offences.


He’s being held in custody and is set to appear in a Guelph court on Sept. 21.


In November 2023, Edmonton Police Service arrested Joshua Alexander Drumondin connection to the case.


Steven Jon Walsm-Gerigs, a 33-year-old from Brantford, was also arrested.


Both men were charged with first-degree murder and kidnapping.
