The Captain America: Brave New World Trailer Finally Reveals Harrison Ford’s Red Hulk – SlashFilm
All things considered, this is a pretty good trailer! Especially when you know the film has undergone massive reshoots. To be fair, the trailer is light on story and heavy on action (yep, your eyes don’t deceive you, the White House blows up at one point), but it gets the job done. And I’m kind of loving President Harrison Ford (I know he’s actually playing Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, but c’mon, we’re all just going to think of him as Harrison Ford — hey, can Harrison Ford run for President in our world, too?). Speaking of which, it sure looks like Ford gets to turn into Red Hulk at some point in the movie, so that’s something. Do you buy Harrison Ford turning into a giant CGI Red Hulk? Honestly, a part of me wishes they had just painted Harrison Ford red and let him go nuts; that would be a lot more entertaining.
Beyond the action, it looks like “Brave New World” will be all about a government conspiracy coupled with the idea of Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson bringing Captain America back into the fold. I’ll confess I didn’t watch “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” so I don’t really know how that show left things off. That said, I have a feeling this movie, which wants to appeal to the widest audience possible, won’t rely too heavily on the events of the show.
Here’s a synopsis, along with the cast and crew:
After meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, played by Harrison Ford in his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, Sam finds himself in the middle of an international incident. He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red.
“Captain America: Brave New World” stars Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, with Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, and Harrison Ford. The film is directed by Julius Onah and produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore. Louis D’Esposito and Charles Newirth serve as executive producers.
“Captain America: Brave New World” explodes into theaters on February 14, 2025.
