The Bloodline attack Cody Rhodes at WWE Clash at the Castle

The Bloodline are looking to get the Undisputed WWE Championship back into their possession.

Cody Rhodes retained the title against AJ Styles in an “I Quit” match at Clash at the Castle, but Solo Sikoa confronted Rhodes on the ramp after the match was over. Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa then launched an attack on Rhodes.

The Bloodline beat down Rhodes three-on-one until Randy Orton and Kevin Owens ran out to help him. The babyfaces got the better of the brawl once the odds were even. There may have then been an intentional tease for down the road with Orton taking a look at Rhodes’ title belt.

In the new edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that facing Sikoa appears to be the next “big destination match” for Rhodes. Rhodes won the Undisputed WWE Championship from Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. Since then, Reigns has been absent from WWE television.

Sikoa has become the new leader of The Bloodline in Reigns’ absence, claiming that Reigns left him in charge until he’s back. Tonga and Loa were both added to the group by Sikoa.

The “I Quit” match between Rhodes and Styles opened the card at Clash at the Castle. It included Rhodes’ mother Michelle Rubio slapping Styles after he taunted her. Styles threatened to hit her with a steel chair but did not go through with it.

Styles quit when Rhodes was about to hit him with the steel steps. Following the match, Rhodes showed some aggression by still hitting Styles with the steps anyway. Commentary said Rhodes was sending a message to the rest of the locker room by proving that he can get down and dirty when he needs to.
