Tennis Predictions: Queen’s Club, Berlin and Halle futures, plus best bets and picks for Monday, June 17th

Queen’s Club, Berlin and Halle predictions and best bets for June 17th

With the French Open having just ended, the tennis action will be all over the place until Wimbledon (which I already previewed). There are grass-court events in all different parts of the world (Queen’s Club, Berlin and Halle), and there are also some Challenger-level events being played. I’ll be taking a bit of a scattered approach over the next few weeks, taking advantage of the insane amount of tennis to find value wherever I can. But below you’ll find some futures for the Cinch Championships at the Queen’s Club in London, the ecotrans Ladies Open (German Open) in Berlin, Germany and the Halle Open in Halle, Germany. I’ll also post a few of my tennis best bets and tennis predictions for Monday, June 17th.

I’m going to quickly hit on some of my favorite picks below, but I usually have a lot more on the Pro Picks page. I also occasionally add some picks throughout the day, as schedules can get wonky with the international nature of the sport. I also like to see how odds are moving. That said, keep checking the page throughout the day.

2024 Record: 392-399 (+35.05 units)

Queen’s Club Futures + Halle Futures

Taylor Fritz To Win Queen’s Club (11-1 – 0.5 units): I identified Fritz as one of my Wimbledon sleepers in my early look at the third major of the year. Well, Fritz has a relatively favorable draw in the Cinch Championships this week. The American hasn’t yet played a grass-court match this season, but he’ll get to play himself into form in a very manageable opening-round match. And he probably feels good about a draw in which he won’t have to face Carlos Alcaraz or Grigor Dimitrov, two of the better grass-court players in the field, until the finals. In fact, I really don’t see Fritz running into any real trouble until a potential semi-final battle with Alex De Minaur. But that’s a match in which the American’s weapons should give him a nice edge. With all of that in mind, I’m backing Fritz and hoping for an opportunity to hedge in the final.

Matteo Berrettini To Win Halle Open (12-1 – 0.5 units): Berrettini is coming off a run to the finals in Stuttgart, where he looked the part of a former top-10 player. Berrettini’s serve is as big of a weapon as any on tour and he has one of the best forehands in the world — especially on this surface. Berrettini’s backhand is also less of a weakness on this surface, as he can just slice it and make opponents dig it out. That’s not easy on a low-bouncing surface. Overall, Berrettini has flashed an elite level in recent years, but he always seems to get injured at the worst times. However, you can make some money when he’s in the middle of these stretches. And the price is right to hope for another deep run in Halle. This field is absolutely loaded with natural grass-court fits, but Berrettini is every bit as good as any of the non-Jannik Sinner options.

Ons Jabeur To Win German Open (10-1 – 0.5 units): The best players in this tournament are in the bottom half of the draw, so there’s some opportunity at the top. And I think Jabeur has the ability to capitalize. Jabeur played pretty well at last week’s event in Nottingham, where she lost an insanely close match against Karolina Pliskova in the quarterfinals. Jabeur played very poorly late in 2023 and early in 2024, but she has found her game in recent weeks. Jabeur is also very dangerous on grass courts, so this is the perfect time of the year for her to get going. Jabeur was a Wimbledon runner-up last year and her game is just a perfect match for quick, low-bouncing conditions. I know a potential matchup with Coco Gauff in a few matches might be scary, but I think Jabeur can beat her on this surface. And overall, I just think there’s a really good chance you’ll be happy to have a 10-1 ticket on her come the weekend.

Milos Raonic vs. Cameron Norrie – Queen’s Club

It feels weird going against Norrie in London, but he’s just in miserable form right now. The world No. 39 has lost three of his last four matches and he’s coming off a second-round exit in the Nottingham Challenger. Norrie is way too good to be struggling at that level, but that tells you everything you need to know about where his game is right now. Meanwhile, Raonic played well in ‘s-Hertogenbosch last week, as he beat Jordan Thompson and Roberto Bautista Agut. He also played a competitive set against De Minaur, who went on to win the tournament. Raonic doesn’t move like he used to and he’s undeniably injury prone. But his big serve and ability to win quick points should be enough for him to get the job done against a struggling Norrie. I’d normally say that the Brit has too much baseline game for Raonic, but his rally tolerance isn’t where it usually is. So, I don’t even see him grinding out a win here. He’s going to struggle to break Raonic, and he should give the Canadian some opportunities to break himself.

Bet: Raonic ML (-141 – 1.5 units)
