Argentinian tennis player Diego Schwartzman is currently on the cloud nine! While fans were sad knowing Schwartzman played his last French Open match a week ago, they are delighted to hear great news. Keeping the majestic Eiffel as a witness, Schwartzman jumps on to his life’s next chapter with his girlfriend Eugenia De Martino.

Diego Schwartzman took to his official Instagram profile to announce great news to his fans. “Hihihi 💍 I close my eyes so I don’t wake up and that life continues to be a dream come true. Until old @eugedemartino 💍❤️” (in translation)- wrote the Argentinian ATP star as he shared a picture of kissing his finance in front of Paris’s iconic Eiffel Tower. Schwartzman’s girlfriend was spotted showing off her engagement ring, which delighted their fans very much. Schwartzman and his model girlfriend Eugenia De Martino have been in a relationship since 2019. The duo met through a common friend and have been making fans’ hearts full of their together moments on social media.

Martino has been accompanying Schwartzman after they confirmed their relationship publicly. In 2022, Martino stormed the internet when she accompanied this ardent Nadal fan to Engaland’s Wimbledon. Their partnership was loved by many and now that they embark on a new chapter, their fans have nothing more than best wishes for the couple’s future.

Amid their engagement news, Schwartzman’s fans are slightly disappointed as the Argentinian has already announced his retirement. While he mentioned leaving the professional court in Argentina next year, this French Open marked his last Roland Garros presence.

Earlier this month, this Argentinian ATP star announced his retirement from professional tennis on social media. “I want my last tournaments to be my own decision, May this 2024 be that way, hopefully having the opportunity to compete in the tournaments I enjoy the most. And in 2025, in Argentina, to be able to have my final moment, the most beautiful closing I can imagine (in translation)– wrote Schwartzman.

He also spoke about his gratefulness for his colleagues on this journey. “How many moments I never imagined, how many anecdotes I never dreamed of, how many people I met who helped me grow, who taught me so much, who made me a much better player and person than anyone ever thought I would be, including me, Every corner of the court, every second training, every point competing, every moment I was immensely happy. I lived it with such intensity that today it is difficult for me to maintain it”- he concluded.
