Tennis Duo Rachor & Carrillo Named ITA All-Americans! – Concordia University Irvine Athletics
IRVINE, Calif. – The fantastic duo of Sophie Rachor and Tiffany Carrillo were named NCAA DII All-Americans by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Wednesday.
To qualify as ITA All-Americans, players had to finish in the Top 10 in the national rankings for doubles and in the Top 20 for singles.
Rachor and Carrillo together finished the season No. 5 in the ITA DII rankings, while Rachor was also No. 8 nationally in singles. Rachor finished 17-5 in singles while her and Carrillo combined for ten victories while sharing the court in doubles.
The success of these two young women were huge reasons why Concordia rattled off a nine-game winning streak in the heart of the regular season.
The pair also made Second Team All-PacWest when the conference awards came out back in April. Rachor and freshman Emilie Lugon-Moulin were also First Team honorees in singles play, while Lugon-Moulin and fellow freshman Bryn Johnson racked up a Third Team All-Conference selection in doubles.
