July Cup (4.35) runner-by-runner guide
ART POWER
ART attack. Ended last season with a Group 1 win over this trip at Ascot on soft. Couple of good runs this year and will like conditions.
KHAADEM
KHAA trouble. Landed back-to-back Jubilee Stakes wins at Ascot over this trip but was only fifth in this last year and has a bit to find especially if the going is slower.
KINROSS
KIN the hunt. Good comeback at Newcastle and likes this trip with some cut. It’s not easy for an older horse to win but his yard is in form so there’s every chance of matching last year’s podium finish.
MILL STREAM
Most read in Horse Racing
FAST Stream. Really good run at Royal Ascot last time after a game Group 2 win at York over this trip. Any ground suits, he gets on well with William Buick and won’t be far again at a fair price.
MITBAAHY
BAAH humbug. Good form at lower levels but was well held in the Jubilee last time. Likes to weave his way through so will need luck and looks a little short of this standard.
REGIONAL
AL your pal. Cracking second over 5f in the King Charles III at Royal Ascot on the back of close Curragh second. Group 1 winner over this trip last season so has class and goes on any ground. High on shortlist.
SWINGALONG
IN the Swing. Looks a big price given she was only half a length away in Jubilee Stakes last time. Quick ground would be ideal but she could be capable of better.
VADREAM
DREAM Off. Yet to win beyond Group 3 level and was held at Royal Ascot. Losing run is building up now and would need a massive personal best to come out on top.
INISHERIN
IN the money. Solid sixth in the Guineas but looked all over a sprinter when winning the Sandy Lane at Haydock at this trip. Was supplemented for the Coronation Cup at Royal Ascot where he blew his rivals away. Acts on fast and slow ground. Could be the superstar sprinter we are crying out for.
JASOUR
SWEET on Sour. No match for Inisherin at Ascot. Best over this trip and it’s still early days for trainer Clive Cox who knows what he’s doing with sprinters.
RIVER TIBER
RIVER in deep. Poor when well backed for Jersey Stakes last time after a good third in Irish 2,000 Guineas. Did well over this trip as a juvenile so may be happier back sprinting but must raise his game.
VANDEEK
VAN motors. Was awesome as a two-year-old last season with two Group 1 wins over this trip. Flopped when odds-on for comeback at Haydock and missed Royal Ascot with abnormal blood count. Impossible to write him off.

INISHERIN looked a star in the making when hammering his rivals in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot last time.
Veteran Kinross will like this challenge and looks dangerous along with Mill Stream, while Vandeek could figure after missing the Royal meeting.
1st Inisherin
2nd Kinross
3rd Vandeek
