Syracuse men’s basketball lands Georgia State transfer Lucas Taylor

The Syracuse Orange men’s basketball program has landed Georgia State guard Lucas Taylor out of the transfer portal, first reported by Mike Waters of Syracuse.com. Taylor tweeted out a photo following the news.

Taylor visited Syracuse this week and came to a decision during his visit, according to Waters. Adrian Autry will add another shooter to the roster as Taylor averaged 14.5 points per game at Georgia State while shooting 34.5 percent from outside. A native of Raleigh, North Carolina, he played his first two season of college basketball at Wake Forest before transferring to Georgia State last year. He’ll have one season of eligibility remaining.

Taylor’s pledge to Syracuse gives Adrian Autry 11 scholarship players for 2024-25. He’s the fourth player to transfer to the Orange this offseason, joining Eddie Lampkin, Jaquan Carlos, Jyare Davis. Taylor will join a guard group at Syracuse of JJ Starling, Chance Westry, Kyle Cuffe, Carlos and Elijah Moore.
