Sustainable business travel startup Eco.mio raises 7-figure seed round

Eco.mio, a Berlin-based B2B startup that helps companies
achieve their climate goals and bring travel costs down, has raised a seed
funding round it described as in the “low seven-figures.”

The financing is led by IBB Ventures, Identity.vc, and the
Hans(wo)men Group, with support from N&V Capital, Partners in Clime and
several individual investors.

Founded in 2021, Eco.mio said it will use the funding to
expand beyond Germany and to add new products for hotels and rental cars and
solutions related to CO2 taxation and budgets.

The company provides a solution that integrates with existing
booking systems to spur employees to choose greener travel options. Partners
include Cytric by Amadeus, SAP Concur and BCD’s consultancy Advito. Eco.mio said
corporate clients using its solution have reduced their CO2 emissions by 26%.

“This funding allows us to scale our solutions to become a
European leader and significantly expand our product range,” said Katharina
Riederer, co-founder and CEO.

“With the support of our investors, we will significantly
accelerate our vision of making sustainability a core element of every business
trip.”

And said Til Klein, co-founder of Identity.vc, “The ability
to integrate directly into the existing systems of business customers makes Eco.mio’s
solution extremely valuable. This is a crucial factor for our investment
decision.”
