Sunday works: Sierra Leone leads 46 graded winners on the tab
Sierra Leone worked Sunday for the first time since finishing third in the Belmont Stakes.
The Gun Runner colt breezed four furlongs in 49.66 seconds at Saratoga for trainer Chad Brown.
“It went fine. It was his first work back and he was moving good,” Brown told the New York Racing Association media team.
Brown said he has yet to decide whether Sierra Leone will try the Grade 2 Jim Dandy on July 27 or wait for the Travers (G1) on Aug. 24.
After winning the Blue Grass Stakes (G1), Sierra Leone was second by a nose in the Kentucky Derby and was the favorite for the Belmont.
