“I Think You Should Leave” star Tim Robinson teased EA’s upcoming “skate.” in a spoof trailer about how the in-game company M-Corp is definitely not up to anything nefarious.

“Tim came into the picture pretty early on for us; as soon as we knew the vibe of what we were going for, it was really a no-brainer,” “Skate” brand director Mike Bell and creative director Mark Renken told Variety. “‘I Think You Should Leave’ got many of us through the pandemic years and we wanted to bring that unique brand of comedy to our world. There were a few late nights and many laughs drafting initial passes of the script, but we always knew we wanted to get Tim and Zach Kanin’s hands all over it. They did a great job taking our premise and running with it to bring the laughs.”

Other news out of Summer Game Fest included an “Alan Wake 2” expansion pack “Night Springs,” a first look at CBS Studios and Innersloth’s “Among Us” TV series, a new “Street Fighter” game, a trailer for Annapurna’s new cozy game “Wanderstop,” an Oct. 25 release date for “Sonic X Shadow Generations” and a July 2 launch for “The First Descendent,” Amazon’s reveal of “New World: Aeternum,” among other announcements.

Per Hasbro and Digital Eclipse, the new “Power Rangers” game, titled “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind,” is “a fresh adventure with an original storyline that both respects and remixes ‘Power Rangers’ lore with scenarios and gameplay that will be both familiar and new to MMPR fans. Players will brawl, blast, fight, and drive through a constantly shifting mix of classic game genres and fan-favorite moments from the series.”

Horror master Jason Blum appeared on stage to announce his production company Blumhouse is breaking into video games, revealing the first six titles on its indie games slate.

“In many ways, Blumhouse Games feels like going back to our roots, with a focus on indie horror, pushing boundaries and elevating new, original stories,” Blum said. “But this time fans can get in on the action, and immerse themselves in the Blumhouse world. I’m proud of the team and we hope this first slate of games will entertain, thrill and terrify players, and we will have more in store for fans soon.”

The Blumhouse titles teased in a sizzle reel shown to the audience at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles included “Fear the Spotlight,” “Sleep Awake,” “Crisol: Theater of Idols,” “The Simulation,” “Grave Seasons” and “Code Name: Project C.”
