Some tennis fans question Novak Djokovic’s Wimbledon draw – Tennis Tonic – News, Predictions, H2H, Live Scores, stats

Many tennis fans believe that Novak Djokovic will make it to his tenth final at the grasscourt Major this year after seeing his draw for the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. Djokovic will begin his campaign at SW19 against Vit Kopriva, a qualifier from the Czech Republic, and may face Jannik Sinner or reigning champion Carlos Alcaraz, but not before the final.

He just had knee surgery to repair the meniscus rupture in his right knee that he suffered while competing at Roland Garros. The 24-time Grand Slam champion wasn’t sure if he would be ready to compete even after travelling to SW19 and beginning his preparations.

Now that Djokovic’s draw is public, he is committed to competing for his eighth Wimbledon championship, which would enable him to tie rival Roger Federer’s record-breaking tally of titles at SW19. However, many tennis fans on X are not pleased with what they perceive to be an easy draw for the Serb.

To make their point, one group of fans pointed out that Djokovic won’t play Sinner or Alcaraz until the tournament’s final match.

One fan commented: “How predictable a Q in R1 for Djoker and avoids both Sinner and Alcaraz till finals! Where is that guy screaming about the establishment and draw fixing?”

Another one wrote: “He’s avoided Sinner and Alcaraz so he’s making the final pretty easily, a lot of the seeds will go out early, cakewalk draws.”

One fan replied: “Establishment rigged it as always, bro won’t get neither Sinner nor Alcaraz in semis LMAO. when was the last time an anti-vaxer got a hard draw anyway?”

Now the world no.2, the Serbian played his last match on the 3rd of June when he beat world no.27 Francisco Cerundolo 6-1 5-7 3-6 7-5 6-3 in the 4th round of the French Open (draw).

This year Djokovic has an overall 18-6 match record. Novak Djokovic’s most significant result of this season was reaching the semifinal at the Australian Open, Monte Carlo and Geneva.

Novak Djokovic will play the world no.123 Vit Kopriva in the 1st round. They have never played each other so far in top competitions.

Novak won 99 titles in his career: 53 on hard courts, 19 on clay courts, 19 on indoor courts and 8 on grass courts. (See the list of his titles)
