SiouxFalls.Business Report: Waterless slides & high-tech basketball training experience coming to town

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Jodi Schwan with SiouxFalls.Business visited to talk about exciting entertainment developments for the city.

Slick City Action Park is rapidly expanding and just awarded the franchise rights to Sioux Falls.

Think of this like water slides without the water. It’s a park filled with patented friction-free slides that really send you flying.

But, unlike trampoline parks – which is where these owners came from – this is a concept that’s open to a greater variety of ages.

You’ll find slides of all kinds plus an area for younger kids and space for parties and special events.

The franchisees also are opening in Fargo and Omaha, and they’re looking for either an existing building in Sioux Falls or a site they can build on. Once they find that, they’ll move forward with construction.

This next one has a site in Sioux Falls so you could see it sooner than later — it’s called Shoot 360, and it’s high-tech basketball training meets immersive video game.

This facility also is being franchised here by a group from Fargo, which already has opened there.

Think of it like a golf simulator but for basketball, so players will come here to practice and get feedback on their shooting, passing and ball handling.

But, you also don’t have to be an athlete to come here. Kids play games on the interactive wall, and there even are leagues where you can compete with friends or with players at other locations nationwide.

The franchisees own land on the east side by Harmodon Park near 41st Street and Veterans Parkway, so they’re waiting to get a handle on construction costs and financing and then plan to move ahead.
