It was another record breaking day in B.C. Monday as 25 communities tied or broke daily maximum high temperature records.
More than half of those (14) were established in the Southern Interior including seven within the Thompson-Okanagan-Similkameen areas.
More records are expected to fall as temperatures continue to rise as a high pressure ridge continues to linger over the province.
Records were either tied or broken in Kamloops, Kelowna, Merritt, Osoyoos, Princeton, Summerland and Vernon and all but Princeton shattered records established less than a decade ago.
The warmest temperature in the region was in Osoyoos where temperatures hit 39.4C, breaking the previous record of 38.5C set in 2015.
In Kamloops, the mercury reached 38C, tying the previous high set in 2015.
Other records established Monday include:
- Kelowna – 37.8C. Previous record 36.5C set in 2015
