Seahawks Round-Up: John Schneider Joins NFL Network’s The Insiders, College Football Hall Of Fame Announces Ballot And More
77 players, nine coaches and six nominees with Seahawks ties on College Hall of Fame Ballot
The College Hall of Fame has announced their 2025 nominee ballot for inductions into the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame. The National Football Foundation’s president and CEO Steve Hatchell said that being on the ballot is a significant honor in itself.
“Out of the more than 5.7 million individuals who have played college football, only 1,093 players have been inducted. The Hall’s requirement of being a First-Team All-American narrows the pool to about 1,500 eligible individuals. Being part of this elite group signifies true greatness,” Hatchell said.
Seahawks Legend, Steve Hutchinson was inducted into the 2024 class.
One of the biggest names on the ballot this year is Seahawks Legend Marshawn Lynch. His bio reads “2006 First Team All-American who led Cal to a share of the 2006 Pac-10 title…2006 Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year led the league in rushing (1,356), all-purpose yards (1,785) and TDs (15) that season…Two-time bowl game MVP (2005 Las Vegas, 2006 Holiday) and Cal’s all-time leader in 100-yard rushing games (17).”
Lynch was traded to the Seahawks in 2010 by the Buffalo Bills and helped the Seahawks to win Super Bowl XLVIII, made four Pro Bowls with Seattle and first-team All-Pro honors.
Along with Lynch, Sebastian Janikowski, Fred Jackson, Peter Warrick and Ken Norton Jr. are all on the ballot too.
Another recognizable name on the ballot is Terrance Metcalf, DK Metcalf’s father, who was an offensive lineman and played at Ole Miss.
