Sabrina Carpenter ‘Could Never Compare’ Her Life or Career to Taylor Swift Who Is in ‘Such a Different Echelon’
Sabrina Carpenter is opening up about her relationship with Taylor Swift.
In an interview with Rolling Stone published Monday, June 17, the “Feather” singer, 25, discussed her rise to stardom and her friendship with the “Lavender Haze” singer, 34, whom she’s been opening for on the Eras Tour.
“I hold her to such a different echelon,” said Carpenter of Swift in the story. “I could never compare my life, my career, my trajectory to anything close to what she’s done.”
In the piece, she praised the pop megastar and her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department.
“She always puts out music at a time where I didn’t realize I needed those songs,” Carpenter said. “We’re very, very verbal with each other about our mutual love and admiration.…”
The “Nonsense” hitmaker continued: “She played me ‘But Daddy I Love Him’ before it came out, and that’s also one of my favorites.”
Carpenter also addressed the online fodder about when she starred in a campaign for Kim Kardashian‘s SKIMS, revealing that the “Cruel Summer” musician did not have an issue with her starring in the campaign, despite Swift’s complicated past with Kardashian.
“I’ve been very, very communicative with her about that situation, and I just love her so much and support her till the end,” she said of Swift.
Carpenter also revealed she wasn’t exactly paying attention to the conversation around it.
“As much as people want to believe you’re tuned into every little thing, I’m not because I’m constantly working,” she told the publication.

In the April campaign, Carpenter sported several SKIMS items in a ’90s-themed bedroom.
In a press release statement, the “Please Please Please” artist said she “loved the femininity of the whole creative [shoot]. I love both collections, especially the delicacy of the Stretch Lace and the second-skin feel of Fits Everybody. Every piece I wore was super flattering and so comfortable, which of course is always a given with SKIMS!”
Carpenter was a Swiftie well-before joining the Eras Tour. She’s posted covers of herself singing her tourmate’s songs like “White Horse” as far back as 2008.
Beyond performing on the Eras Tour, Carpenter also attended a Kansas City Chiefs game with Swift to support Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce back in October 2023 and they were even seen together at Coachella during weekend one on Saturday, April 13.
