The 25-year-old improves to 33-11 on the season, and claims his second career title on grass. He joins fellow Aussies Pat Rafter and Lleyton Hewitt on the ‘s-Hertogenbosh roll of honour.

“It achieves a new career-high for me, so that’s always a great little bonus,” said De Minaur said. “My first week on grass couldn’t have gone any better, so I’m looking forward to next week at Queen’s and the whole grass-court season with a smile on my face. I’m glad I was able to get a win here in Holland.”

De Minaur, competing as a top seed for the first time in his career this week, reeled off six consecutive games from 2-2 in the opening set to take the match away from Korda.

The American reeled him back in for a brief spell in set two, breaking for 2-1 and consolidating for 2-all, but De Minaur took the next three games to exercise control once again.

Korda saved a pair of championship points to hold for 3-5, then broke to get back on serve at 4-5, but De Minaur broke back for the victory, converting his fourth championship point to close the contest at the 91-minute mark.
