Ryder Cup star Ian Poulter RAGES at LIV Golf fan in Houston

  • Ian Poulter was furious with one fan’s antics during the final round in Houston
  • He launched a foul-mouthed rant at the fan before being driven away
  • It came just days after he slammed British Airways for losing his clubs

Footage has emerged of Ryder Cup star Ian Poulter launching a foul-mouthed rant at a fan during the final round of LIV Houston on Sunday.

Poulter, who achieved a career-high ranking of World No5 in 2010 and has been part of five Ryder Cup-winning teams, defected to LIV Golf in 2022, leading to his PGA Tour and European Tour memberships being suspended.

He was taking part in their latest event in the US over the weekend, but failed to keep his cool with one fan on the final day as he shot a seven-over par round of 79.

As he made his way to his golf buggy, Poulter turned to the fan and furiously asked him: ‘why don’t you f*** off?

‘You were f***ing quacking it up on the 18th tee so f*** off.’

The fan appeared taken aback and responded ‘just relax’ as he looked to defuse the tension, but Poulter was in no mood to hold his tongue.

The Brit continued: ‘Shut the f*** up. You didn’t say hi and you didn’t say it on the 18th tee either. So I suggest you shut the f*** up.’

As the golf buggy carrying Poulter drove away, he told officials ‘next time, he’s out.’

Poulter was in a similarly foul mood last week when he furiously raged at British Airways for losing his clubs at Heathrow as he headed to play in Houston, Texas.

He took to Instagram mid-flight and posted: ‘FFS @British_Airways so disappointing. I checked in 2 hours 30 minutes before the flight. What could possibly be the excuse?

‘Just received the email 3 hours into the flight. I wouldn’t have bothered flying if you’re not sending my golf clubs. Can’t swing fresh air.’

In a separate post, he added: ‘Talk about p***ed off @British_Airways.

‘The golf bag wasn’t over weight. I took it to over size and scanned it and watched it go down the belt. #Pathetic.’

He later claimed that fellow player Henrik Stenson’s bag had also been left behind as he tracked their luggage while on board the aircraft.

‘@British_Airways just for the record there are @henrikstenson golf clubs as well. You might as well find those as well whilst your looking for mine. The only thing you guys do very well is charge for flying,’ Poulter wrote.
