Rutgers Basketball: Four-star 2025 target includes Rutgers on final list
Rutgers Basketball has been targeting Class of 2025 guard Nigel James and are one step closer to a decision.
The Scarlet Knights remain in the race as the four-star recruit out of Long Island Lutheran narrowed his list down to four schools. On3’s Joe Tipton shared that James is down to Rutgers, Marquette, Georgia, and Georgia Tech.
James did not set a recruitment date but Tipton reported that there might be a decision “within the month of June or July.”
James competed on the Nike EYBL circuit with the Expressions Elite this summer. He has played 15 games ,averaging 9.1 points and 2.7 assists in 21.3 minutes per game.
James is currently ranked No. 84 by 247Sports. He recently took official visits to Syracuse, Marquette, and Providence. Of this list, the Golden Eagles are the only team remaining. He is also considering visits to Georgia ad Georgia Tech.
James took an official visit to Rutgers in October after an unofficial visit last summer. Steve Pikiell and his staff have been after the point guard in recruitment and are now included in what could be the final step.
