RUFF Golf launches in Switzerland – Five new locations opening soon
The Swedish indoor golf concept RUFF is being launched in Switzerland. The first facility is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2024. In total, there are plans to open five RUFF sites in Switzerland by Markus Gaggl, who now owns the master franchise rights for the entire DACH region.
RUFF Golf has sold the master franchise rights for Switzerland to Austrian Markus Gaggl, meaning he takes over the role of franchisor in the area. He already owns master franchise rights for Austria and Germany, which means that he now owns the rights to the entire DACH region.
Alex Bengtsson, CEO of RUFF Golf says: “We are strengthening our position as the leading player in golf entertainment in Europe. It is also very pleasing that the entire DACH region is now licensed to one master franchisee. We have already worked with Markus Gaggl for two years and in two countries, and I have great confidence in his ability to start up and operate RUFF facilities in Europe.”
The agreement is valid for ten years and the plan is to open up five facilities in Switzerland over five years. The first two sites will open at the end of 2024 in Bern and Lucerne. During the year, RUFF will expand in Germany with another new golf center in Düsseldorf.
RUFF Golf already has three facilities in the DACH region and eight in Sweden through a franchise arrangement. This latest collaboration will bring the total number of facilities in Europe to 32, and all RUFF Golf facilities are equipped with the latest technology from Trackman.
Alex Bengtsson continues: “Indoor golf is a new phenomenon in Switzerland, just like in many other places in Europe, but the growth opportunities are fantastic. We are seeing an increasing interest in golf, and in new ways of playing and socialising, which is exactly what we can offer. With RUFF, we want to revolutionise golf and make it more accessible to everyone.”
