Report: Update On Potential Timeline For Rhea Ripley’s Return
A new report provides an update on the potential timeline for Rhea Ripley‘s return.
Rhea Ripley was forced to relinquish the WWE Women’s World Championship due to injury on the April 15 episode of WWE RAW. Earlier in June, Dave Meltzer reported an update in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, noting that Ripley was rehabbing her shoulder injury.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that the internal hope is that Rhea Ripley will be back before WWE SummerSlam. Per Sapp, WWE sources indicated that the company has things “constructed” in a way that Ripley can slide in and return whenever she is ready. This would also apply in a non-wrestling capacity.
Sapp writes that there have been discussions internally about Ripley potentially getting involved in the world title picture when she returns. In the report, Sapp cotes a WWE source who said that the story available at the time will determine what programs she is involved in. Sapp also writes that there is no word on whether there are any active plans for Ripley. The company is just hoping that she could appear in some capacity prior to WWE SummerSlam if all goes well.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
