Report: Update On Jake Hager’s Future With AEW
A new report provides an update on Jake Hager‘s future with AEW and beyond.
Jake Hager has been with AEW since 2019. He has been featured as a member of The Inner Circle and The Jericho Appreciation Society. Hager has not wrestled for AEW since the AEW Rampage taping on February 21. He returned to the ring at an independent show on June 1. At the end of May, Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net reported that Hager was no longer with AEW, as his contract had expired.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that he did not hear back from Jake Hager when he reached out about the report. However, AEW sources indicated that there were no plans to use him in the company. Sapp also writes that, though Hager previously retired from MMA, at least one promotion is interested in using him.
Update: Hager has been removed from the official AEW roster page on the company’s website.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
