Report: Casa Creed is retired after developing ankle problem

Casa Creed, a multiple graded-stakes winner for trainer Bill Mott, has been retired at age 8.

Daily Racing Form reported that the son of Jimmy Creed developed a problem with the suspensory branch of a hind ankle.

“It was starting to bug him,” Mott told DRF. “He’s sound now, turned out, we don’t want to push him any further.”

Casa Creed compiled a career record of 36: 9-5-6 and earnings of $2,691,308.

His six graded-stakes wins included the Fourstardave (G1) in 2022 and 2023 and the Jaipur (G1) in 2021 and 2022.

After finishing third in the Breeders’ Cup Mile in November, he returned in March in the Al Quoz Sprint (G1) at Meydan, finishing sixth, and then had his final start in the Poker (G3), finishing fourth.

He is owned by LRE Racing and JEH Racing Stable, and Mott told DRF, “it’d be nice if somebody gave him an opportunity as a stallion prospect.”
